Belong to the Feldspars group with formula Na(90-70%) Ca(10-30%) (Al, Si)AlSi2 O8, a Sodium Calcium Aluminum silicate. Hardness is 6-6.5.

The flashes of red color are caused by hematite platelets inclusions.

This material comes from Arusha region, Tanzania; compared with Indian stones, shows bigger hematite crystals and generally is more transparent with a slights green tone.
