Quartz with ankerite The ankerite ( Calcium Iron Carbonate) here is crystallized in beautiful negative rhombohedra shapes ; the original mineral is dissolved, but the shape of it is still visible in the quartz. Other crystals are solid ,sometimes covered by a thin patina of limonite. The cut is a buff-top with 2 facet on pavilion. From Minas Gerais, Brazil. Size: 24.2x22.5x10.4 mm. Weight: 64.80 ct.
