Pyrrhotite or Pyrrhotine, Pirrotite
Is a very unusual Iron Sulfide with formula: Fe1-xS (x=0 to x=0.2) ,hardness is 3.5-4.5.
Can be distinguished from other similar sulfide such as Pyrite,calcopyrite or Nickeline by it’s magnetic property, is not so strong like the Magnetite,but can attract some paper clips or move a compass needle. The color is silver-bronze and comes from Peru.
