Painite is one the rarest gem in the world,discovered in Burma in the year 1956 by Arthur C.D. Pain. Confirmed as new species the mineral was named after him. Is a Calcium,Zirconium,Aluminium Borate with formula (CaZrAl9O15(BO3) and hardness of 8. Despite it’s hardness is not easy to cut and polish. Clean stones are very rare ,usually the material is opaque to translucent with small pits and cavities. Definitely a collector stone. From Myanmar ( Burma) Size: 7.2x7.2x5 mm. Weight: 2.37 ct.
